White Villages between Cádiz and Malaga

The White Villages area is located between the provinces of Cádiz and the province of Malaga and is so named for the habit of the inhabitants to paint the houses in white and to give color to the beautiful patios with many flowers.

The sight of these white houses that seem to climb the surrounding mountains is breathtaking.

The route runs through the Sierra de Cádiz, an area declared a Biosphere Reserve, which includes the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park and Los Alcornocales Natural Park, the most important in Spain.

In the streets of its villages you can imagine what daily life could be like in the time of Al Ándalus. Its economy is linked to the cultivation of the olive tree and the trade in the production of leather goods.

Ronda is one of the most famous towns on the route of the white towns, a few kilometers from the Costa del Sol, in the province of Malaga.

The city is located on a plateau with an impressive deep steep cliff caused by the Guadalevín River, which divides the old town in two.

Ronda has seen, over the centuries, the passage of various cultures: Celts, Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs have left their marks and its historic center has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

During our visit to Ronda we will visit the oldest Bullring in Spain dating back to the 18th century. We will take a walk through the white streets of its old town and then enter Casa del Bosco, a beautiful stately home, built in the early 20th century.

Our guide will take us to the Mondragón Palace, the old palace of the Taifa kingdom of Ronda.

Free time to eat, shop and enjoy the beautiful views of the surroundings from different panoramic points in the city.

VISIT OF ZAHARA DE LA SIERRA

Visit of the white town of Zahara de la Sierra and continuation of the route to the Sierra de Grazalema, where we will get to know its forests, the Garganta Verde and where we will observe the flight of the vultures.

VISIT OF GRAZALEMA AND RONDA

The path continues to the town of Grazalema, which gives its name to the natural park, and after visiting it we continue to Ronda, a beautiful city steeped in history with its historic center declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

GUIDED VISIT AND FREE TIME

The guide will take us through the streets of the center, and then we will have free time to discover the charming corners of the town.
