Route through the White Villages from the Costa del Sol. An incredible landscape.

One of the many attractions in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia, are the White Villages: a group of 19 small towns such as Vejer de la Frontera, Medina Sidonia, Castellar de la Frontera, Ubrique or Jimena, among others that have an individual history but common characteristics. The first thing that surprises the traveler is the white color that covers walls, ceilings, houses, churches and palaces. The towns appear on the horizon as large white spots in the middle of the Grazalema Natural Park, declared a UNESCO biosphere reserve. The intense light that Andalusia involves will guide you along the journey between olive and pine trees, holm oaks, cork oaks and Spanish firs. An incredible landscape located a few kilometers from the beautiful beaches of the Costa de la Luz, ideal to visit during spring and autumn, when the temperature is very mild.

The town of Zahara de la Sierra extends along the side of a small mountain. Its wonderful natural and historical attractions have made it worth a visit. Visitors will enjoy walking through its charming streets, with its beautiful whitewashed houses, flowery balconies and spectacular viewpoints to the mountains.

On the way to Grazalema we will pass through the “Sierra de Grazalema” Natural Park. We will enjoy a variety of landscapes and incredible views of the provinces of Cádiz, Málaga and Seville. We will also have the opportunity to witness vultures in their natural habitat. These mountains are known for the largest griffon vulture colony in Spain. Once we reach Grazalema, there will be time to enjoy a good meal, surrounded by the picturesque white houses decorated with colored flowers.

After lunch we will leave Grazalema and head to Ronda, on the way we will cross a beautiful Mediterranean forest full of cork and oak trees. To this day, the locals still work with their livestock (Iberian pigs, goats, and cows) to extract honey, cork, aromatic spices, or wood. Ronda is one of the oldest cities in Spain. Ronda is unique for its surrounding nature and history. It is built on two separate cliffs. The city is connected by the most famous bridge in Spain, known as “El Puente Nuevo” even though it was built in the 18th century. Our tour guide will take you around Ronda and tell you about the rich history of the city.
