The Caminito del Rey is a bridge built to connect the walls of a canyon carved by Guadalhonce River, the gorge of Gaitanes. It is located in the province of Malaga, between the municipalities of Ardales, Álora and Antequera.
It consists of a fully renovated pedestrian bridge, about 3 kilometers long, just 1 meter wide, suspended 100 meters above the river, between two totally vertical walls.
It is so called because the king Alfonso XII crossed it to celebrate the taking of the County Guadalhonce.
After years of neglect and lack of maintenance it has been completely renovated.
Walking in the midst of this canyon is an unforgettable experience.
